Did You Know?

In Santa Rosa County, over 1,000 students are currently identified as homeless or unaccompanied under the McKinney-Vento Act. Many of these children spend their nights in “doubled-up” housing, motels, or shelters. By providing weekend meals and basic hygiene items, we help ensure these hardships don’t stand in the way of a child’s ability to learn.

Weekend Food Program

Weekend Food Program: With over 13,000 students in Santa Rosa County—approximately 44% of the student population—qualifying for federal meal assistance, the need for consistent nutrition does not end when the school bell rings on Friday. The Weekend Food Program bridges this gap by delivering weekly food bags to qualified students. Each bag is designed to sustain a child through the weekend, containing two breakfast Items, two lunch Items, one dinner Item, a snack item, and a juice.

Monthly Snack Program

Monthly Snack Program: Monthly delivery of 8–10 cases of prepackaged snacks to each local school, ensuring every student in need stays fueled and focused. This program helps students succeed throughout the school day while alleviating the out-of-pocket financial burden often carried on by classroom teachers.

Hygiene Kits

Hygiene Kits: Proper hygiene is vital for physical health, mental well-being, and long-term success. To help students build lifelong habits, each semester we provide a hygiene kit with the essential supplies—including shampoo, soap, deodorant, floss, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. This program ensures every student has the tools they need to stay healthy and confident.

Our Community Partners

The Good Neighbor Thrift Store serves as a vital cornerstone of our mission. Operated by the Navarre United Methodist Church, the store’s proceeds help power Navarre Community Outreach. When you shop or donate gently used items at the Thrift Store, you are helping fuel the Weekend Food Program and our snack and hygiene initiatives for local students.
